چکیده
Livestock production provides food and raw materials in addition to being means of livelihoods millions people. However, their is associated with pollution among which greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. contributes 80% the total GHG emission from agricultural sector. These emissions are originated enteric fermentations manure management. Emissions management mostly Nitrous oxide. Five (5) sources N O livestock were identified dung 2 urine grazing animals deposited pastures, indirect sources, animal wastes stables storages, application land burning proportion 41, 27, 19, 10 3% respectively. Estimation of methane and nitrous oxide emissions from Indian livestock.
Greenhouse gas (GHG; methane and nitrous oxide) emissions from enteric fermentation and manure management of Indian livestock were estimated from the last two Indian livestock census datasets (2003 and 2007) using IPCC Tier 2 (2006) guidelines. The total annual GHG emissions from Indian livestock increased in 2007 compared to the year 2003 with an annual growth rate of 1.52% over this period. T...
متن کاملNitrous oxide emission from denitrification in stream and river networks.
Nitrous oxide (N(2)O) is a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change and stratospheric ozone destruction. Anthropogenic nitrogen (N) loading to river networks is a potentially important source of N(2)O via microbial denitrification that converts N to N(2)O and dinitrogen (N(2)). The fraction of denitrified N that escapes as N(2)O rather than N(2) (i.e., the N(2)O yield) is an imp...
متن کاملNitrous oxide emission by aquatic macrofauna.
A large variety of aquatic animals was found to emit the potent greenhouse gas nitrous oxide when nitrate was present in the environment. The emission was ascribed to denitrification by ingested bacteria in the anoxic animal gut, and the exceptionally high N(2)O-to-N(2) production ratio suggested delayed induction of the last step of denitrification. Filter- and deposit-feeding animal species s...
متن کاملNitrous Oxide Production and Consumption in Peat
Nitrous oxide can be produced in soils by biological or chemical processes in which nitrogen compounds are transformed. The occurrence and course of these processes are affected by different factors, e.g. temperature, pH, aeration of the soil, availability of organic substances and availability of inorganic nitrogen (e.g. nitrate and ammonium). How these factors affect nitrogen transformations ...
